In a few words...
David Therrien Brongo is a Montreal-based percussionist who is active as a performer, teacher and researcher. Since 2024, he has been the principal percussionist with the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne and also holds the positions of principal timpanist-percussionist with the Orchestre de l'Agora and the Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. Co-founder of Duo AIRS and former principal percussionist with Paramirabo (2016-2023), he collaborates regularly with the OSM, the Orchestre Métropolitain, the OSQ, the SMCQ and Sixtrum. He holds a Doctorate in Performance from McGill University and where his SSHRC-funded research focused on solo percussion in Quebec. Winner of several distinctions, including an Opus Award for his album CONFLUENCE and 4th prize at the Concours Prix d'Europe, his various projects are supported by the CAC, the CALQ and the CAM. He teaches percussion at Cégep de Drummondville and coordinates the Atelier de percussion de Montréal. David is a Bergerault and Dream Cymbals and Gongs artist.
